Implantcast UK is a highly specialised and innovative medical technology company with more than 25 years’ experience in providing the highest quality and dynamic technologies to their partners and patients, who are at the centre of everything they do.
Implantcast UK’s Operations Manager, Kieran Woodhouse, contacted Supreme Systems to enquire about how the company’s data could be made easily accessible from wherever members of their team were based, as the data was only reachable then from their UK office or via a VPN connection, resulting in a loss of productivity and efficiency when working.
A solution needed to be found to improve their workflow and to create a more efficient means of storing and accessing their data. So, as their IT Support company, Supreme Systems recommended migrating their data over to “the cloud”, or more specifically to SharePoint 365, a component of the Microsoft 365 solution that Supreme Systems had previously implemented for Implantcast UK to host their email, calendars and contacts.
The Supreme Team commenced the project by auditing the Implantcast UK file system and held discussions with them on the appropriate design for their new site, on what access permissions would be given to the individual members of their team and on how the data would be further secured.
We made forward-thinking plans by informing the staff at Implantcast UK of potential restrictions they might face during the process of migrating the files to the new platform and performed a risk assessment to mitigate for potential issues that might arise during project delivery. Key staff at Implancast UK also received training on SharePoint, so they had a full understanding of how to operate the new system when the project was finished.
With the planning stages completed, Supreme Systems went on to create the desired layout for the site and assigned the appropriate security permissions to the Implantcast UK user accounts. With that done we started the process of data migration from the old, network file system to SharePoint, all the while performing spot checks and tests to verify the data had migrated successfully and functionality of the site was as expected.
The project was delivered promptly and with no disruption to the Implantcast UK users.
The SharePoint 365 solution now offers the Implantcast UK team a place to store files within their Microsoft 365 platform, with the ability for multiple users to collaborate on documents in real-time, and to access their data from anywhere with an internet connection, whether that be from their offices or while on the road.
Implantcast UK Operations Manager, Kieran Woodhouse, said of the project “The project was delivered in a timely manner with good communication throughout. Also, having the ability to follow up with post-completion questions is very much appreciated.”
