Here at Supreme, we are constantly asked what is the most common ticket logged within Supreme’s Helpdesk. Well, it’s mostly to reset the passwords of Windows or Office 365 accounts…
We have seen many instances of when people will need to reset their Windows password; for example, if you feel someone has found out your password, your computer has been compromised, or the current password is about to expire.
Not a simple fix, right? Well, today’s video will show you how…
Press the Ctrl, Alt and Delete keys at the same time on your keyboard, this will bring up a screen with a menu displaying various options.
Select the option called “Change a password”.
Once you have clicked on this, you will be asked to enter your current password as a security measure. Then, you will be asked to enter your new password twice.
Once done, click on the arrow in the password confirmation box or press enter whilst in this box.
Your Windows password has now been reset. Next time you start up your computer, lock your computer or do anything that requires your Windows password, you will need to enter the new password that you have just set.
Supreme Top Tip: We advise to stay clear of the obvious passwords such as “12345” or “password”, as these can be easily guessed. It is best practice and recommended by our team to create a strong password with 8 -10 characters long and a combination of upper and lower cases letters, numbers and even symbols.
