The goal to introduce greater transparency, bring staff and customers closer, adhering to due diligence and best practice was the inspiration behind this Walsall based law practice’s decision to introduce an Intranet system within the organisation.
The Challenge
The Intranet would be accessed by staff and clients alike – Staff members could access the site during office hours only (apart from legal managers who could access the systems whenever) while clients could access the site at all times by simply entering a user ID and password. Each user would have their own designated workspace within the Intranet and also have access to sections relating to their role or case.
The basic structure of the Intranet site included a company news section, a partner’s blog section, an FAQs section, a section where clients and staff could download forms, white papers, help guides etc. Each lawyer within the practice would have their own designated workspace which would be prepopulated with information pertaining to their open cases. Clients within their workspace could respond to queries, chase outstanding requests, leave general comments pertaining to their case and attach documentation for the attention of the company’s legal staff.

We introduced Microsoft’s SharePoint solution which in our opinion offers unrivalled collaboration resources for small businesses.
